Blondie's Pizza: Grabbing a slice on our way to the airport

After a morning tour of the Golden Gate Bridge, Ferni and I had to run back to the hotel to pick up our bags to make it to the airport on time, so we decided to stop here and grab a quick bit to eat. The place is located on Powell, right across from the Cable Turntable, which makes it an ideal place to grab a quick slice.

There are boards everywhere with different types of slices, but both Ferni and I are picky with our pizza and decided to each have a regular cheese.

You can have your slice standing up as you enter, or eat your slice at the downstairs dinning area.

Ferni and I had a few minutes before we had to make BART to SFO, so we got our slices and ate it downstairs at the dinning room.

The pizza was good, but a bit too doughy and the sauce and cheese were quite goey and good, so all in all, the pizza was good. It wasn't greasy either.

Favorite Dish: We both had the regular cheese slice which was $3.75 taxes included each.

    Blondie's Pizza: Good Pizza

    by azz8206 Updated Jan 20, 2011

Blondie's Pizza is a great option for people wanting something quick, fresh and for those on a budget. Pizzas are fresh because there is such a high turnaround, from what I saw the place is popular with locals as well as tourists. Blondie's also sells frozen yogurts with many flavours to choose from.
    Seating is available.
Hours of operation are Sun-Thurs 10:30am-9:00pm, Fri and Sat 10:30am-10:00pm.

Favorite Dish: Not only did the BBQ chicken pizza taste out of this world, it sent out a great aroma as well.

Blondies Pizza: Best Slice in Union Square

    by Cruiseone2003 Written Mar 29, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Blondies is perfect for the local and the tourist who are in Union Square near the Powell St Cable Car turn around. This place has grown from the strictly takeout of years ago to adding a small dining room underneath so you can dine in. Most people just order a slice or two and leave. They make pretty good pizza, satisfying the meat lovers, vegetarians and the creative pizza lovers. Grab a slice and head up to Union Square to eat it and enjoy the people watching. Blondies can get crowded and it's difficult to figure out where the lines are, most of the employees are nice, except for the one guy who was quite rude to me today (Hey, we all have a bad day right?)

Favorite Dish: I like the slice of pepperoni, buy one and it's served on a paper plate, if you buy two they will put it in a box for you. They usually have specials so you can get a drink with your slice for $3.50 otherwise plan on $3.00 for a slice.

Blondies Pizza: My Favorite Cheap Pizza!

Blondie's is a great little pizza place right in the middle of Cable Car turnaround at powell street. From the front, it doesn't look like much, sort of a fast food storefront crammed full of people (since the dining area is BELOW!). It is well worth it though. Sometimes there are guys outside ushering people downstairs for a slightly more formal atmosphere. Downstairs is a neat, little, cave-like place with classic rock posters and pictures from the San Francisco scene all over the walls. A great place to grab a slice of pizza and a cold Anchor Steam Ale.

Not everyone wants a huge slab of pizza at 9:30 in the morning, but if you suddenly have a craving for one, this is the place to go. It is a tiny, no-frills storefront that serves slices to go that are also no-frills, but are huge. The toppings are limited to the classics: cheese, pepperoni, and such, but they are tasty, filling and ready when you are. The line of locals on their lunch break and tourists looking for a quick bite between sightseeing stops gets longer at peak hours, where can you eat a cheap meal at downtown like that? (beside's Tadd's Steakhouse nearby off course!)

Favorite Dish: There pizza hasn't really changed in taste through the years and prices still reflect that outstanding value. For less than $4, you can grab a big 1 topping slice, Pizza Crust - Slight garlic butter brushed on the end. Crust is thick and when served fresh, almost tastes like french bread!

How can you beat a massive, tasty slab of ultra-fresh pizza and a drink for $3.75?

    Open hours: 10a-9p M-Sat, 11a-8p Sun

As you get off of Powell Street Bart Station. Walk past the Cable Car line up Powell Street. This is probably the best starting place to see San Francisco.

As you'll be walking a lot, it might be a good idea to grab a quick bite. If you want something affordable, quick, and tasty, try Blondie's Pizza. It's pretty good, and for $3.75, you can purchase a combination slice of pizza and a soft drink (soda, pop, etc.).

With the hills in front of you, be not concerned of the calories in the food you eat. With all the walking that you'll be doing, you'll need the carbo load.

Favorite Dish: The combination slice of pizza.

    Blondie's Pizza: Blondie's Pizza

by Mirja Written Aug 26, 2002

Blondie's is a very simple booth, selling pizza. But that pizza is soooo yummy. The slices are very large and normal priced. Compared to any booth down Fisherman's Wharf it is a bargain. If you decide to walk down the street with the pizza-slice in your hand, be aware of the wind, otherwise it will blow your food into the air, and eventually it will land on the street.

    Favorite Dish: Pepperoni-Pizza
