Pluto's is like a cafeteria offering healthy food where you go up the the stations, get your food and pay at a cashier. There's a build your own salad bar. Everything is fresh and good here but the onion rings stand out as excellent! This place won't put a dent in your wallet and it's a great place for kids, groups and quick eats. If you sit by the huge window, it's almost like sitting on the sidewalk with lots of views and street action on Irving. The decor is eclectic, fun and casual. If you want fresh, good and fast food, eat here.

Great place when you've been eating junkfood in meetings all day and need something healthy for dinner. You go through a line and pick and choose ingredients for a giant salad that is tossed right in front of your eyes. Very inexpensive too.

Pluto's is a place we happened across the night we arrived in SF. The crowd lured us in. It was a little confusing at first, but the locals we very friendly and helped us out. You fill out a little card, ticking off what you want, hand it over to the person at the counter and they fill your order. If I remember correctly we had an open-faced flank steak sandwich with mushrooms and a side of mashed potatoes. The portions are pretty big, so we shared. It must have been good if I still remember it 3 years later. The place seemed to be very trendy at the time, but not in a snobbish way. As I mentioned earlier, everyone was friendly and helpful.
I've only ever had the aforementioned sandwich, but it was GOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
