Very small restaurant located in an alley way behind Symphony Hall. Owned by the same poeple that run Hayes Street Grill in that same general area. The ambience is urban shabby chic. Can be very crowded before performances in Symphony Hall or the Opera but the line moves fast and it is a quick in and out meal if needed as well.
Favorite Dish:
I love the Quattro Formaggi pizza and the Beet, Blue Cheese, and Walnut Salad. One piece of pizza and a salad will fill you up, or go for two pieces of the pizza alone for a great meal. They serve wine by the glass and several beers are on tap. They also serve sandwiches but for my taste, I can not pass up that unique cornmeal crust on the pizza and I don't even care for corn bread!
The first time I came here, a friend brought me after a San Francisco Symphony Performance. It's a short walk from Davies Symphony Hall, and if you don't have to worry about parking, it's perfect for a quick bite before or after a performance.
Deepdish, cornbread crust, filled with all kinds of tasty things. They use only the freshest ingredients, for instance, sweet corn from that morning's farmer's market.
Prices: $3.75-$4.25/slice; $18.50-$22/pie
Favorite Dish:
This is definitely not your standard, run of the mill pizza place. I don't know if you can even get a pepperoni pizza. It's more California Cuisine pizza... but very delicious.
