Since 2000, the Renovated Airport is really a Jewel in the Bay Area but since it is always foggy in the bay area, there are cases of flight delays due to it. The airport is composed of four terminals (1, 2, 3, and International) and seven concourses (A through G) arranged in a ring. Terminal 1 (Boarding Areas B and C), Terminal 3 (Boarding Areas E and F), and the International Terminal (Boarding Area A) handle domestic flights. The International Terminal (Boarding Areas A and G) handle international flights.

San Francisco International Airport is located approximately 13 miles south of San Francisco, near the junction of Highways 101 and 380.

Korean Airlines is largest airline based in South Korea, it operates a network that links Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, North America to its hub at Incheon International Airport and its domestic hub at Gimpo International Airport. It flies to about 110 cities in more than 30 countries worldwide. The Asia/Pacific region and the US account for most of its traffic. The airline extends its network as part of the SkyTeam global marketing and code-sharing alliance, which is led by Delta Air Lines and Air France. (Code-sharing allows carriers to sell tickets on one another's flights.)

Incidentally, it provides the cheapest fare to South Korea
(where I recently went last june)

Northwest primarily operates a hub and spoke route system with hubs in Amsterdam, Detroit, Memphis, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Tokyo. Northwest is the world's sixth largest airline in terms of domestic and international scheduled passenger miles flown and the U.S.'s sixth largest airline in terms of domestic passenger miles flown. In addition to operating one of the largest domestic route networks in the U.S., Northwest carries more passengers across the Pacific Ocean than any other U.S. carrier hence it is a favorite of asians like me for transpacific flights and the easy accruage of air mileage in its Worldperks program.

PAL, what philippine airlines is called is older than cathay pacific making it Asia's Oldest Airline (and trivia-only PAL and Other Philippine Carriers are not subsidized by the Governent, bucking the trend in the rest of asia wherein other National carriers are heavily subsidized by their Governments like Singapore Airlines, Thai Air, Malaysian Air, Royal Brunei, Emirates, Japan Airlines and others).Philippine Airlines was founded on February 26, 1941, making it Asia's oldest carrier still operating under its current name.

It provides the most direct and cheapest connection to the philippines.

Southwest Airlines is an American low-fare airline based in Dallas, Texas. It is the largest airline in the United States by number of passengers carried domestically for any one year and the second largest airline in the world by number of passengers carried. It also maintains the fourth-largest fleet of aircraft among all of the world's commercial airlines.

Since september 2007, Soutwest Airlines are available at SFO Airport so you don't need to go to Oakland Airport for the ride and spend $ 35 for the Airport Shuttle.

Jet Blue was great. Effecient, clean, friendly, and cheap.
Absolutely nothing to complain about. Will definatley fly them again. It was about $100 RT from Long Beach to Oakland, and getting from Oakland to SF was very inexpensive and easy. Check out their lamenated Pilates cards that are in the seat pocket along with the inflight magazine. Very progressive with witty commentary copy.

  • This always used to be my gateway to San Francisco and the bay area. Back then it was the only airport connected to BART, and most of my friends live in Oakland anyway. Add to that I used to fly Southwest and well it all made sense. Now with its continued reliance on the Bus to the BART I find it more complicated to come in here than SFO.

The San Francisco International Airport is a modern and efficient facility with information booths in each terminal's baggage claim area and easy connections to downtown. The best way to get there in my opinion is on the train (BART). The BART station is located on the Departures/Ticketing Level (Level 3) of the International Terminal and a ticket into town will only set you back $4.95 compared to around $30 for a taxi or a minimum of $12 for a shuttle bus.

  • If you are flying into San Francisco, you have a choice of three airports. I have landed in all three airports. SFO is the main hub for international flights.

If you are transfering flight connection between these airports, factor ample time as there is traffic jam during rush hours between airports. I almost missed my flight back to Asia when I changed my flight from Maine to San Jose instead and then drove to SFO airport.
