If you want to see what life was like aboard a US world war 2 submarine then head for pier 45 and take a trip around the USS Pampanito .It is a very interesting tour with an accompanying audio guide.

Fisherman's Wharf is pretty much a tourist trap with shops and restaurants.
My rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
You don´t need a reason or purpose to come here. You can walk, eat, relax, excercise, shop, or just watch people. don´t miss Fisherman´s Wharf.
From here 200 police officers ran to the Golden Gate Bridge and back, for a fund-raiser. We spend hours relaxing and viewing the erea by cable car.
