Sea Lions by D._Pepper Walk down to the very end of Pier 39 and follow the sound. And the smell. Sea lions chilling out. What a sight. Good for a photo, then leave! The novelty wears off fast. :o) Leave a Comment

oink oink oink.... by sim1 Do you wonder also if they are there now? That is why I added this webcam. I hope they are there! It is so much fun to watch. Only a pitty you can't hear the noise they make "oink, oink, oink", hahaha, just amazing how much noise they can produce together :-)) The webcam is from : http://www.mapwest.com/ I can't integrate the webcam anymore in VT, so this is a picture from the 25th of September 2002. But take a look at the webcam to have a current look at the seals : http://www.pier39restaurants.com/Jpg/ispy.jpg Leave a Comment

Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39 An old fishing port, Fisherman’s Wharf has been saved and re-saved many times over the years. Unashamedly touristy, the city’s amusement center sports a shopping complex at nearby Pier 39 and a wax museum. Don’t miss Ghirardelli chocolate factory. Alcatraz, the infamous Rock, is one of San Francisco’s most visited sites. Ferries to the island depart from Fisherman’s Wharf, and tickets can be purchased there. A chilling experience, imagine what it must have been like to be locked up on the tiny crag in full view of one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Some of America’s hardest criminals were imprisoned on the Rock, including Al 'Scarface' Capone, George 'Machine Gun Kelly,' and Robert Stroud (a.k.a. the 'Birdman of Alcatraz'). Leave a Comment

by seth0919 Pier 39 - more specifically the Sea Lions at the pier. These sea lions are just so vast in numbers and incredibly close to the where you can view them from. The shops at the pier are a little 'tourist-y' but I guess you have to see it. Leave a Comment

Must go to Pier 39, take a cruise on the Red or Blue Line tours around the Bay and Alcatraz, see the Aquarium of the Bay (awesome aquarium tunnels), and ride the trolly cars. Golden Gate park is a must see for the walker/tourist type. Golden Gate park has so many things to do inside of it. There are museums of art, the Botanical Gardens, Japanese Gardens, beautiful picnic areas, and bike trails for miles. The park is huge. (Make sure everyone goes to the bathroom when you see one.)
