    Give Ripley's a Try

    by Megg3879 Written Apr 28, 2013

I was skeptical. Not much of an indoor explorer. But, I truly wanted to say that I had been to Ripley's in San Fran so we got the ticket and went for an adventure. I was not disappointed. It is one fun thing after another. Wax figures that look real. Optical illusions, wacky stuff. Worth the visit and not all that expensive.

We went to the Believe It or Not Museum and all of us had a wonderful and educational time checking all the unbelievable stuffs there.

Growing up, I used to watch the show Believe It or Not because it showed weird people and weird things. Now, I can tell that I had seen some of the weirdiest stuffs.

You can see the tallest person in the world (replica) and the smallest person in the whole world!

The ticket here is about $19.00 and make sure that you are not rushing so you can enjoy every display. Make sure to stop by the mirror room and have fun figuring out how to get out there!

    Ripley’s Museum and Wax Museum

Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum spreads in two floors and you can check and laugh with some odd and unusual exhibits that vary from video displays to illusions. The entrance fee is expensive ($15), Photo/video is allowed and it didn’t take us more than 40’ to walk through. We liked that some of the things are interactive and you play tricks with others (some harmless ones, don’t worry). Some exhibits may look useless but don’t judge before you read the signs.
Riple’s Museum is open daily 9.00-23.00 (fri & sat till midnight)

Wax Museum is located next to Ripley’s Museum so you may want to check it too. Modern wax museum focus on recreation of famous actors, singers or other celebrities which is more than boring for me. You can’t touch the figures of course and it seems most of the visitors try to pose next to them. The horror section is (a bit) more interesting. The wax museum at Ioannina, Greece is still the ideal museum for this kind of museums because it focuses on the local history.

The entrance fee for the Wax Museum is $14 for adults, $10 for children(12-17) or senior(55+) and $7 for children(6-11). There is also a family pack for $30 for 2 adults+2children. There combo tickets like Aquarium&Wax or Ripley&Wax for $24 and a combo of all 3 of them for $34

This is a fun museum that is essentially a tourist museum. Apparently they're found in many tourist locations.

Our family has made a point of visiting them if we're in a town that has one so this trip was for that purpose. It's worth getting a coupon from the tour magazines for the entrance fee.

It's a fun museum with some really interesting displays and quite a bit of interaction. I would say it's great for travelling with teenagers. Or adults that are interested in strange things.

There is toast art, a sculture of the tallest man, as well as a man with a horn, there is postage stamp art and a few other really fun stuff.

It's fun, and quick and can give you a break from history oriented museums.

    Ripley's Believe It or Not

Ripley's Believe It or Not is located everywhere in the country and internationally, even here across the street from Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco! This museum has a lot of crazy, strange stuff that are real: Horse with three legs, cat with two heads, etc.. of course not the real things are actually here, just models. But this museum should be fun for your children.
