AT & T Park is located in the China Basin section of San Francisco, a short distance from downtown and Fisherman's Wharf. The name may be different but game remains the same. Formerly Pac Bell Park and SBC Park, AT&T Park is the first privately financed ballpark in Major League Baseball since Dodger Stadium (1962), the Giants' new home features an inspiring nine-foot statue of America's greatest living ballplayer, Willie Mays, at the public entrance; home runs that splash into McCovey Cove (named after another Hall of Fame Willie), what no Memorial yet for the now departed Barry "Roid Rage" Bonds? Inside, AT & T Park resembles many of the parks built since 1991. The stadium contains 68 luxury suites, 5,200 club seats on the club level and an additional 1,500 club seats at the field level behind home plate. It has three levels of seating - field, club, and upper deck, but actually has 4 distinct concourses. The main concourse (mezzanine) is located at the top of the first level of seating. Here is where you will find the majority of the concession stands. This area is a great spot for people to stroll through or hang out at during the game. Probably the biggest problem with the park is something that nobody can control - the weather. It gets very cool here most nights, but fans seems to come prepared with winter coats and gloves. Muni buses 15, 30, and 45 also stop within one block of the ballpark.Website: http://www.sfgiants.com

I used to work about two blocks from where the new Giants Ballpark is now located (Currently called SBC Park) and it’s amazing the transformation to the area. Where once there existed old buildings and homeless is now arguably the most attractive ballpark in baseball. SBC Park is served by more public transportation than any other ballpark in the country and is only about 1 mile south from the Embarcadero on Market Street. If you choose to walk, the view along the Bay is great and it even gives you a chance to stop at REDS JAVA HOUSE for a burger, a real SF landmark. If walking is not your style, catch a cab or take the new trolley at Embarcadero that stops right in front of the Park. You don’t have to like baseball to enjoy San Francisco’s new waterfront ballpark: the nostalgically designed 40,800-seat baseball stadium is an attraction in itself. Even the cheap seats offer great views of the Bay Bridge and the China Basin marina. The most desirable seat locations in the stadium seem to be the outfield bleachers or the first-base side. The bleacher area is where the party is. Seems like everyone is waiting there for Bonds to hit another homerun. Baseball purist may have a hard time getting used to the concessions, It's quite gourmet. But even they would love the garlic fries or the Tomato Mozzarella sticks. Tickets to the games are a hot item, so plan early. Catch a game at AT&T Park (formerly Pac Bell Park, formerly SBC Park). It is one of the most beautiful places to watch a ball game. Watch Barry Bonds launch a "splash hit". Be sure to try the famous Garlic Fries. Since the names of our sports venues seem to continually change... I will leave the baseball stadium unnamed. Nevertheless, it is a really fun way to spend a few hours. Remember to bring a jacket, because it can get cold even if it is a sunny day. Ticket prices run from $10 to $72 for Mon-Thurs games, and $12 to $77 for Fri- Sunday games. Baseball is THE sport of choice in the US. If you can get ahold of tickets, you must go to a game at Pac Bell Park. It's great for mingling with us locals! The games are usually sold out, but you can still watch the game from a free viewing area behind the outfield fences. If you're interested in getting tickets, contact me. I know some people with season tickets, and sometimes they sell tickets to the games they can't go to. PacBell Park (locals don't like the constant name changes! Currently, it is formally known as AT&T Park) has been called one of the best baseball parks in the US, if not the best. It is a beautiful park, with gorgeous views of the San Francisco Bay. There is also a gigantic fiberglass glove and enormous Coca Cola Bottle which is especially attractive for kids! Facilities are excellent as each seat was designed so that the fan could see the game well even if he was sitting in the nosebleed seats. On most days, you will see fans out on their kayaks on the Bay, hoping to catch a home run ball! The entire game experience at PacBell/AT&T Park is extremely fun and relaxing. Don't miss the fabulous garlic fries!! The only downside is that ticket prices are on the higher end compared to other baseball parks in the US. When in SF in the summer you should make it a point to take in a game at the new Pac Bell Park. Very similar in design to that at Camden Yards in Baltimore it is an excellant place to take in a game. Leave a Comment
