Behind the old-fashioned archway marking the entrance to San Pedro Square you will find one of the oldest areas of San Jose. Today this compact spot is home to numerous bars and restaurants, but the area is also home to the Peralta Adobe and the Fallon House, two of the oldest buildings in the city.
San Pedro Square is focused on a one-block area on San Pedro Street between E St John and E Santa Clara Streets. Here you find a good variety of food and drink from the little bistros to very fancy restaurants. I have been to the Tied House microbrewery as well as the Starbucks (that has no bathroom). There is also a theater, plenty of parking, and a weekly farmers market in the summer.
