Favorite thing: Visit Montana de Oro, a state park on the coast where you can see whales migrating to Mexico. Don't miss Farmers' market, every thursday night in downtown San Luis Obispo
Fondest memory: San Luis is nestled in a beautiful valley--flying in from anywhere is always a wonderful treat.

Favorite thing: The weather here is odd. Think layers. It's really cold and foggy in the morning, then it can get really hot in the afternoon, and then really cold again in the evening. . .. During warm weather it can get pretty breezy at night. Maybe it's because we're surrounded by mountains.

Favorite thing: Just walking in San Luis Obispo is worth while. You'll see a lot of nice old buildings like Fremont Theatre and Louis Store.
When we left the town we heared that the Thursday evening is the best evening to be in San Luis Obispo, because it's "Farmer's Market". All the inhabitants will go to Higuera Street to party and have a huge barbecue.

Favorite thing: Let’s make no secret of it. We both like a nice cold glass of beer. Being abroad is always a challenge to find a beer we like, which reflects our taste of having a beer. In America it wasn’t really that hard to find the brand we liked, it was clearly Budweiser, popularly referred to as Bud.
Budweiser is a lager made with a proportion of rice as a substitute adjunct for barley malt. This immedaitely shows the problem for selling it in Europe as traditional brewers serve beer with only the four main ingredients (water, hops, wheat and barley). So Budweiser is not produced accoring to the German "Reinheitsgebot". But we found out that it didn’t taste distinctively different.
The Budweiser bottle is a rather familiar icon to most Americans. The bottle has remained relatively unchanged since its introduction in 1876. We liked it, but the fraze “King of all Beers” is a bid of an overstatement!

Favorite thing: Visit Hearst Castle near here. Ii is one of the most amazing examples of how the rich live/lived!! Newspaper tycoon Randolph Hearst built Hearst Castle - shipped the stone out from England - and filled it with amazing things. I remember a gorgeous indoor swimming pool.
