The Blue Parrot: Cozy Family Restaurant
Very casual and very cozy seafood restaurant located on the 2nd floor of an old building. There are views of the ocean and casino which is nice. They give you a lot of food and the lunch menu is very inexepensive. You can eat under $10 for lunch,
a little more than that for dinner. This place is good for families with children, it's very laid back and it's rather cheap for Avalon standards.
Favorite Dish: Fish Tacos and their cole slaw. They also have burgers, grilled chicken, and lots of desserts.

The Landing Bar & Grill: Try the Seafood Pasta
The Landing Bar & Grill gets a "A" for the view and another for the great seafood pasta. Get there early for dinner and ask for a table by the fire.
Prices for dinner range from $10.50 for the pasta and up to $21 for filet mignon - all are worth the money in my book.
Lunches range from $6.25 - $10.50 and this covers a variety of salads, gourmet pizzas and sandwiches.
Favorite Dish: For fun, try the Catalina Ale, they wouldn't say if it was made on Catalina or not.
I thought the seafood pasta was exceptional.

Buffalo Springs Station Restaurant: Buffalo in the sky
Getting to the restaurant is a bigger problem than deciding what to order. Buffalo Springs Station Restaurant is located in Catalina Island's airport-in-the-sky. As I mentioned in my other "off the beaten path" tip, even if you don't fly or don't own a plane, the Island's airport is worth visiting. The restaurant's unique location totally sets it apart from all other restaurants on the Island. Once you get here, you must try the most famous item on the menu, buffalo burger. I also liked the patio seating with a great view.

Metropole Ice Cream Company: Try Two Dips
While you're wandering around the Metropole Marketplace try the ice cream at the Metropole Ice Cream Company. The ice cream is exceptional.
