the Steamer Trunk has a great selection of Catalina mosaic tile, pottery and glass that's made locally.
They open at 9 a.m.
What to buy: Buy a piece of Catalina tile. The tiles have become collectibles, so it's a good investment. They also have a selection of "Heartwood Puzzle Boxes" and Romania Glassware.
What to pay: The Heartwood Puzzle boxes range from $28 - $40. The local craft pieces vary in price.

This is a market place with several stores filled with island crafts and gift items. A nice area for shopping and a good place to have a snack outside and people watch.
What to buy: A piece of Catalina tile or pottery would be the best purchase as these are made on the Island.
What to pay: Usual tourist prices.

This is a wonderful gift shop combination coffee shop (Starbuck's quality). The gift items are great! Items like, jewelry, books, soaps, perfumes, serving dishes, glassware, wine, etc. Also look under my restaurant tip for photos of the desserts.
What to pay: It's not cheap but they have nice quality items priced reasonably for what you get.

Nice quality men's shirts for sale. Tommy Bahama shirts, too! But super expensive. They also have some gift items. A tissue box caught my eye that even glows in the dark. They have small model airplanes of all sorts for sale. Some made of wood and other made of metal. Interesting store to visit!
What to buy: Clothes and airplanes
What to pay: A lot!

What a great little shop that has a wonderul cheese selection and other gourmet items like red pepper jelly (I bought some). Once you walk inside, toward the back end of the store is a Florist. I believe separately operated from the deli. It makes for an interesting shopping experience!
What to buy: Cheese, salami, flowers, etc.

This shop if off the beaten path. The stores on Crescent Avenue that sell sea shells are sort of expensive. This place was reasonble. I spotted a coral cluster I liked. The store on Crescent wanted $145 mounted on a 3X5 piece of acrylic. This store sold the same thing without the acrylic base for $35. I didn't buy it because I didn't want to carry it around. I should have bought it on my way home. It was a good deal!
What to buy: Sea Shells

The gift shops in the village carry a lot of the same stuff and some are a lot more expensive than others- Look around in all the stores before you purchase something.
What to buy: I bought a mesh beach bag and a hooded sweatshirt. I used the bag for the rest of our trip and the sweat shirt was perfect for the boat ride back.
What to pay: About $5 for the mesh bag
Anywhere from $20 - $50 for a sweat shirt
Pretty normal.

When it comes to grocery shopping, you don't have much of a selection to choose from. The Vons is about 1/4 or 1/3 the size of the ones back home.

I guess you would call this a souvenir shop. Oh my gosh! I would call it, nothing but junk! Anyway, I should have listed this tip under warnings.
What to buy: Nothing
What to pay: Probably not much
