Triton Museum of Art, Santa Clara

I'm not much of a museum guy, but most locals don't even know about this little treasure. Located in downtown (yes, there is a downtown) Santa Clara, the Triton boasts rotating exhibits highlighting the museums collection of 19th and 20th century American art. Also permanent is the Native American tribal collection and Triton's sculpture garden, located on the seven-acre grounds. Check the calendar for current showings.

Hold on to your feet folks, but currently at the Triton: The Pastel Society of the West Coast!!! YES!!! Another reason to come to Santa Clara -- as if you needed another. The Triton Museum of Art is proud to present works from this organization, the second oldest national pastel group in the United States. It was organized in 1985 with the purpose of meeting a need for a regional organization, which would promote the 300-year-old medium. I am so there!!! Pastels, baby!!! Now that?s excitement!!! Next: Fred Spratt: Trooping the Colors!!! Just kidding, of course!! This place is pretty cool.
