When visiting Santa Clara or the San Jose area, please be advised that driving can be a real problem, espescially on the 101 and the 880 at times. Traffic is usually only during rush hour, but it can happen at anytime, and often with no reason. Drivers tend to ignore the 65 MPH speed limit and drive very recklessly. Public transportation is excellent, so maybe consider that instead of renting a car.
