Follow Bay Ave. all the way up the road from the ocean until you reach the campus of UCSC. This is probaly the most unique campus I have ever strolled. The campus is spread out by sections and in a Redwood forest setting. Every area of the campus is a hiking adventure as you follow paths surrounded by Redwoods to your next class building. Some of these buildings look like resort lodges more than campus buildings. Since this is a very left wing campus, everytime I have been here there has been a protest of one kind or another going on.
Though this is school, it is definately worth the time to see. I spent a few years there, but I still missed alot of things. Rock quarries, redwood forest, giant sink holes, farms, deers, mountain lions, caves, arboretum... the list goes on and on... oh and there are buildings for classes, somwehere.
This huge garden has plants from all over the world, including some rare specimens. A must-see for any green thumb, botany student, or anyone who just loves plants.
One of my friends was taking classes at UCSC. I went to visit the campus with her one day. It was really a beautiful campus surrounded by woods. You can take the bus there.
