If you are an aviation fan, you would love to see the Museum of Flying. The thing is that as for now (early 2005) it is closed, in anticipation for its grand reopening. Check the site though. It may well reopen by the time you set off on your trip to Santa Monica.
Yes, this site was the site for my Prom (dance) in high school. Oh what memories... A dance floor was set up on the floors of the building. OK, the site of parked vintage airplanes isn't quite romantic, but it was ...umm..different.
Santa Monica's weather is great all year round, always mild, during the winter months December through March, you may encounter a few rainy days. But in general the weather is in the mid 40's through the high 60's, during that time of the year. The rest of the year the weather is great. Do not forget to visit the Santa Monica pier and the Santa Monica Promenade is a must!!
Fondest memory: Having been living here for the past 25 years, all the wonderful places to eat and relax. People from all over the world come to visit us. We do have some interesting art galleries. When I am away from home, I miss most of all the beautiful sunsets, especially in Autumn.
The Santa Monica Symphony has frequent engagements at the civic auditorium in town and each performance the group does is 100% free! This tells me that there is still hope is free entertainment in the greater LA area and that Santa Monica is such a loaded city!
