Luggage and bags: Bring the plastic money baby. But, if you ever get stuck here and happens to be jobless and homeless, Santa Monica City is the only place that welcome homeless people. They provide care, shelther, free FOOD!! etc. But, I advise against it okie :)
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Sneakers are best but roller blades, skate boards, scooters are kool to be able to move around faster.
Always bring a jacket just in case the weather decides to change ;)
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Restrooms are available everywhere and they're free. If any emergency ever require medical attention, you can go to the emergency room at either St. John's Hospital or Santa Monica Hospital. Make sure you have insurance.
Photo Equipment: She's Baby
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: California has strict laws. No alcohol, no dogs, no camping, no burning at the beach. At least most of them. Read the signs posted before doing anything silly. Else, tick tick tick ticket for you :)
Miscellaneous: Always make sure you have money atm card, debit card, credit card all welcomed. Almost all restaurants and supermarkets accept them. It's convenient and safe but the interest rate is a killer.

Luggage and bags: If you plan to shop & chances are you'll being doing lots of them here, bring extra bags!
Miscellaneous: Or you may just bring your credit cards (yeah, cardS!).
