Locanda del Lago, Santa Monica

Locanda del Lago does a pretty nice job of offering good authentic Italian food. The service is pretty nice, setting great, and all dishes are prepared with care. The 3rd street promenade might not seem for the place for such a good and authentic restaurant, but I'd recommend it.

Favorite Dish: Tagliatelle al sugo d'anatra. Tagliatelle with Duck Ragu'

Oops, going to Lago Restaurants was one of the mistakes. I usually don't write reviews, unless I am really disappointed. The reviews I saw were good, but the visit was total disappointment. The food was ok but nothing special!!! The service was shocking!!!!!! What's wrong shaved head waiter? He act like a king or queen. Never ever going back again!!!!

We went to this restaurant for the first time. The food was reasonably good for a property on the 3rd St. Promenade, and the service was certainly friendly, although they made us wait with a reservation. The one problem we encountered was that we ordered a Ceaser salad that had an insect crawling on it. When I brought it to the notice of the server, she promptly apologized and replaced it. But it was not something we expected from a fine restaurant. On top of it, they did not even have the courtesy of comping us the salad, leave alone the meal!
