Rebecca's was originally located in Venice on the corner of Pacific Avenue & Venice Blvd. Unfortunately for all of us, when their lease expired, the building owners did not renew the lease (and instead put in their own restaurant - The Canal Club) in Rebecca's original birthplace.
Even back then, the margaritas were extremely lethal. Two would make you feel woosy, three and your on your keister. The place was always packed and the vibe was one of the best in L.A.
Something odd happened when the restaurant moved, the place lost its special something it has not been able to recreate in Santa Monica.
Don't get me wrong, it is still a very fun restaurant, but the food is uninspiring.
Favorite Dish:
The margaritas. For really good mexican food, I'd much rather eat at the Border Grill on 4th St. between Broadway and Santa Monica.
