    You can rent bikes (bicycles) on the beach by the hour and ride them on a special bike track the full length of the beach which is so much fun. If you get tired sit by one of the beach cafes and have a drink and watch all the men/women pass by.

    • We rented a bike and rode down to Venice Pier, and then walked back up on Ocean Front Walk. Lots of souvernir tattoo shops and other weird stuff. A very nice trip, recomended!

    Our first introduction to Santa Monica was by this bike path as we happened to park at one end of it. It's a beautiful paved seaside stroll located along the beach. It's an easy walk, bike ride or jog, and you'll pass by some beautiful buildings and the various different beaches next to Santa Monica. Some beaches even have gym equipment for those who wish to work out. Do note that if you wish to window shop and browse through Santa Monica's city streets, you will have to cross Hwy 1 by an overpass to the upper level of the cliffs. This bike path exists at the base of the cliffs closer to the beach, so in a way, it's cut off from the city. Still, however, I'd say it plays an important part in Santa Monica's leisurely beachy identity.
