$15 is the car park charge now, but entry to the centre is free. Do not miss this if you are in Malibu, but you must book your ticket beforehand on line, giving passport information. John Paul Getty commissioned this wonderfull centre which was finished in 1996, but JPG did not get to see it as he died in 1998 without returning to his villa. The gardens are lovely. If you want to see the Getty collection of fine paintings, just travel towards LA for a few miles and visit the Getty Museum. This is a new facility, beautifully appointed and stuffed with wonderfull masterpieces, that you can view close up. Again $15 car parking fee, but no entrance charge. You park the car and are transported up the hill to the venue by small trains.

I like going to the Getty Center because of the great views on a clear day. The architecture of the museum is also fantastic and I enjoy the outside of the museum much more than the art inside. I especially like the gardens next to the museum. The whole place is peaceful and beautiful and many UCLA students like to study here. Parking is $7.
