The pier is wood, so not a good thing to be smoking along it, don't you think?.

so at the end of the santa monica pier lies this very normal looking mexican restaurant.don't let the sombreo's fool you,this place is dangerous and you to can be a victim like i was.it all starts with the chips and salsa,decent enough.now your lured in.the menu looks rather bland for mexican food,typical gringo items.so i skip it and order a cadillac margarita,now i'm a bartender so i know a good margarita..good tequilla,grand marnier,lime juice,and that's it....so the waiter brings over the margarita's and they look good enough,lot's of grand marnier by the color..so i take a sip and it was like heaven hit my lips right at that moment.delicious!! so sitting there eating the chips and salsa they continue to keep filling up my buddy and i procede to drink 4 of these wonderful margarita's..the one man band playing right next to us sounded like frank sinatra by the time we left.so unless you can handle a few stiff drinks you should avoid this dangerous place...

Notoriously know as "The People's Republic of Santa Monica, the city is a stronghold of the left. This means that heavy (and often silly) regulation proposed by the government and liberal political thought is echoed among many locals. Let this be a warning for those visiting here who veer to the right. No matter where one swings politically, there is much pleasure in the beach, shopping and dining out.

Another thing to take into consideration is that in order to drink alcoholic beverages in Santa Monica, as it is throughout United States now, you must be 21 years old, and all places do close at two A.M.

There is no more danger around this city, than most people would imagine it to be. As long as you take your precautions and use your common sense. Remember there is no smoking allow in any bars, restaurants or discos. California has one of the most strick smoking prohibition laws in the country. You could also get annoyance from some homeless people roaming the streets of Santa Monica.

I once made fun of VT and VT people. This picture shows what happened. So please, don't make fun of VT or VT people. You have been warned.
