No Name Bar: Whats in a name
We came here after buying our postcards. A nice place with tables and a bar and for later in the evening a stage.
JP, Heidi, Yubert, Jessica and myself were soon joined by Mark and for a brief moment his mother.

Water Street Grill: Catch the Freddy Clarke Band!
On Friday nights at the Water Street Grill, you can catch a truly terrific band, the Freddy Clarke Band. The band plays in the bar at 9pm on Friday nights and usually plays until about midnight. There is a cover-charge which is waived if you choose to eat in the bar (full menu is available).
Freddy Clarke's band is amazing. Freddy is a flamenco guitar virtuoso in his own right. When his band is with him, the energy level is turned up 10 notches. Often playing with him are people on the following instruments: congas, drums, bass, violin, Bulgarian sheep-skin, and vocals, of course. One of the violin players is from Lebanon and sings some incredibly beautiful Lebanese songs. The conga player sings terrific Cuban songs... you've got to check these guys out.

The No Name Bar: Jazz, blues and good cocktails
The No Name Bar gets its name by the fact that it doesn't actually have a name. It's simply a bar on the main street of Sausalito, Bridgeway, with a sign outside that reads, "Bar." You can regularly catch live music there in the evenings, and you can always get a good cocktail.
Dress Code: No dress code. As casual or swanky as you care to be.
Patterson's Bar: You want a great scotch, you say?
This place is described by some as a bit of a dive, but hey, I like it. You can go here and sample from a terrific selection of scotch, if that's your drink of choice, and relax by the fireplace. Live music sometimes as well. If you want to hang out with locals -- at least the locals that are willing to hang out on Bridgeway -- this is the spot.
Dress Code: Casual.
Smitty's Bar: I feel guilty telling you about this one
I write this tip with mixed emotions... this is really where I'd go for a cocktail in Sausalito on most nights... but it's really a bar for the locals. Nearly a dive bar, but not quite. Big screen TV, pool tables, shuffle-board, juke box, dart board and good honest cocktails. Ack, don't tell them that I sent you! Just go there and pretend you live nearby, okay?
Dress Code: Casual. Look like you just finished swabbing the decks on your houseboat, please.
