Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Should also mention one should always carry a whistle in case you are lost and need help. The sound can be heard for miles. Also a compass and a map of the area would he helpful things to have.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Our esteemed trip leader, Maureen is on the far left of this picture. Note the red colored leggings, they're actually called gators which are waterproof and designed to keep snow and water of out of your boots so your feet stay warm and dry.
So it's a good idea to bring gators if it there's snow or rain. Also, a good idea to wear waterproof boots.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Although the lake is fed from the snow melt, it's not adviseable to drink the water untreated.
So bring along a water filer just to make sure you'll have plenty of drinking water.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: The well-equipped hiker should bring a hat and sun glasses for sun protection. Also use a set of hiking poles to reduce stress on the knees and help your balance.
