Favorite thing: One of the things the area around Solvang is famous for is the different types of wine. When you are in this area you must make it a priority to go to one of the wine tasting places in town and try each of the nectars. You will be very surprised how good some of them are.

Fondest memory: As you can see LJ, Dionosaur and AnnK are right at home tasting each of the different wines.

Favorite thing: Plam Vineyards/Mission Meadow Winery Tasting Room - just recently relocated here from Napa Valley where they produced award-winning wines for 16 years. They are now in the process of building a new winery and vineyard on a 93 acre parcel of land located right behind the Old Mission Santaa Ines. Tasting Room is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Favorite thing: Mortensen's Danish Bakery - what could be better than savouring some scrumptious pasteries or maybe some pure chocolate that the Europeans are so blessed with.

Favorite thing: One thing I had to do when I visited Solvang again, was to go into one of the Pastry shops for a cream cake - delicious.

Coffee and Cake, - scrumptious.

Favorite thing: Vinhus is the place to go if you're looking for wines, cheeses and gourmet foods.

Favorite thing: Bit o'Denmark is Solvang's oldest restaurant. Moderately priced, reservations suggested, full bar, outdoor dining.
