Solvang is proud of their Danish heritage and the Danish bakeries in town reflect the desire for bread and sweets to look and taste as if you were in Denmark. It's hard to walk by a bakery without going in and at least look over the delights in the display cases. Mortensen's Danish Bakery sits on a corner that sees a lot of walking traffic and most of the people , myself included, walk on in to see and even be tempted, ok, eat a delicious pastry.
Favorite Dish: I cannot pass up a good cinnamon roll, but the variety in the display case made it very difficult to decide which taste I was trying to control. The cream cheese pastry won out, maybe because of the blueberries on top.

Relax in the coffee shop while enjoying authentic Danish pastry baked on the premises. Shared Coffee and Danish blueberry, cheese and strawberry pastries with coffee with wife for breakfast early and first thing in the morning. Servers wearing their Danish traditional baker's costumes serving at the table. Recommend highly to visit and get a bite of danish treat.

A complimentary breakfast at Mortensen's Bakery was included in the price of our motel.
We enjoyed a fresh pastry of our choice, orange juice and unlimited coffee. A great deal! But of course I had to purchase some goodies to take home. I tried an assortment of Danish cookies that were out of this world!!! Not cheap but well worth it.

This was an awesome deal...stay at the Royal Copenhagen Inn and get free continental breakfast at Mortensen's Danish Bakery. Walk in and relax in the coffee shop while enjoying authentic Danish pastries baked on the premises.
Favorite Dish: On your mark, get set, go!!! When you walk in, your nose will be in seventh heaven...lol...so will your entire body. With a cup of coffee and a glass of orange juice, LJ chose the Sour Cream Danish and I had the Almond Croissant...so, so good :-)
