The Sebastiani Theatre was originally built in 1933 by Agosto Sebastiani one of the founders of the Sebastiani Winer. Its art deco facade and great illuminated marquee are great to look at and think back of so many older theaters that were built during that time and are no longer with it.
The current owners of the theater the run down place into a first class movie house and entertainment center. While I could not get access to the interior of the building the photos on the theaters web site show the love that was put into the remodeling. Aside from showing movies and hosting concerts the theater is rented out for corporate events, training classes and other miscellaneous functions.
If Napa Has Mondavi, Sonoma has Sebastiani! hence this theater was built by Samuele Sebastiani here on Sonoma's plaza in 1934 and quickly became A Landmark in Sonoma Town. Presently, this theater is still operational and schedules first-run films, musical performances, and sometimes quirky theatrical performances and indie films.
