    Stateline Nevada

by machomikemd Written Nov 9, 2013

Favorite thing: Although South Lake Tahoe is a major destination for people who want to do staycations as it hosts a number of outdoor activities like hiking, water sports at the lake, skiing during the winter, extreme sports and rock climbing, most people go here to partake of the cheap Casino Buffets and to Gamble at Stateline Nevada, as eventhough Stateline Nevada is smaller than Stateline California and South Lake Tahoe Towns, it hosts the only 5 casinos where most of the people going to lake Tahoe Area do and again, only Nevada Allows Gambling and if Californians are tired of going to Cache Creek or Thunder Valley Resorts and Casino in NorCAL and want a change of Scenery from Reno Gambling, then this is the Place to be.

Fondest memory: MontBleu, Harrah's Lake Tahoe, Horizon, and Harveys Lake Tahoe and The Lakeside Inn Casinos Packs them in and people ride the Casino Shuttle Buses going to and from these Casinos or just walk over the Stateline Avenue to Stateline Nevada or Park their cars at these Casinos.

    Free.. Sunny Day guide

by Shihar Updated Mar 26, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Make sure you pick up a copy of the "Sunny Day guide". There are helpful maps and coupons to local resturants inside the guide. You will find a calendar of events, as well.

You should be able to find the guide at any hotel, or outside some store/food markets.

    Faire in the Forest

by tahoesasha Updated Mar 22, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: South Lake Tahoe hosts a Renaissance Faire every year at the Camp Richardson campground on Highway 89 just north of the Y. This is a must see, especially for kids. What makes it special is that it's tucked away into the woods, so you really feel like you've stepped into another land. The lake is right across the street.

Fondest memory: When I am away from home, I miss the luxury and privilege of living in such an incredibly special place that is far removed from the rat race. I always return humbled and grateful, and you don't always feel that way coming home from somewhere else. Being away always reinforces my conviction that quality of life is my priority and that I have chose to live true to this ideal.
