Filipino Style Bakeshop and Restaurant: Goldilocks

by machomikemd Updated Sep 30, 2008

    welcome

How can you feel homesick and longing for your old country if most of the comfort food you had in childhood is now in the USA! Jolibee? Red Ribbon? even Goldilocks! Goldilocks Bakeshop is part of my youth and is one of my favorite places for comfort food and comfort baked goodies! It is the only outpost in the Bay Area and only has 6 branches in the mainland. It certainly attracts ex-pats from all over craving a taste of the special gooey-rich cakes turned out in a cornucopia of flavors.

    Hours:
    Callan Schedule (DST)
    Sun - Thu » 9am - 7pm
    Fri - Sat » 9am - 8pm
    Winter Schedule (Ordinary)
    Mon - Fri » 9am - 7pm
    Sat - Sun » 8am - 8pm

Favorite Dish: what else but my favorite comfort foods and baked goodies like the Brownies, Mamon Bread, Ensaymada (Filipino small kind, not the Spanish Big Kind), Fresh Lumpiang Ubod (fresh spring rolls with heart of palm), the Special Polvoron and a lot more! In the Restaurant area, fried rice, eggs and spicy-sweet longaniza sausage are the favorites. You will also find lumpia, pancit, stir-fried glass noodles with veggies and meat, as well as slow-cooked, flavorful adobo chicken and for dessert, Halo Halo (mix mix of tropical fruits in crushed ice with milk) and Gulaman and Sago (gelatin and tapioca balls) drink.

Pan Asian Buffets are the rage in the bay Area and most people here are not asians since they are also popular to other races too. They have lunch and Dinner Buffet Specials and like other asian buiffets, Dinner is more expensive thant Lunch due to the larger selections of choices for dinner buffets. Lunch Buffet is $ 13.99 plus $ 2 for unlimited drinks and dinner buffet is $ 24.99 (again more choices in the dinner buffets like Alaskan Orphillo Crabs and King Crabs and Pacific Pink Salmon and USDA Roast Beef).

Hours of Operation: Lunch Mon-Fri 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM Dinner Mon-Fri 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM Sat & Sun All Day Dinner Buffet 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM

Favorite Dish: what else but the assorted Pan Asian Buffet spreads like the Assorted Sushi's, Sashimi's, maki, Har Gau Shrimp Dumplings, Steamed Sea Bass, Fried Grouper in Light Soy Sauce, the Hainanese Chicken, the Korean Kalbi Tang, the Lemongrass Chicken of Vietnam (unfortunately, filipino food is nonexistent in pan asian buffets).

First of All, See's Candy has two factories, one is Los Angeles and one in South San Francisco. This See's Shop is just beside the Factory! a special is is that if you know someone working here, they will give you a 20% discount ( i know someone hehehe) so this is Chocolate heaven! they even now have Sugar Free Chocolate Goodies! this is far from the maddening crowd in the Union Square Area (also need a car to go here). Thank you Warren Buffet!

Favorite Dish: what else! the 1 pound Custom mix at $ 18.00 with Dark Chocolate Butter, Butterscotch Square, Pecan Buds and Raspberry Truffle! oh what Sweet Indulgence!

you can also try the 1 pound sugar free variety but it cost more at $ 20 a pound.
