This building use to be a railroad shed that was built in 1946's. It sat empty for quite some time. Now it is a wonderful new addition to Tehachapi's commerce and has spaces for four wonderful stores located right near the tracks with a wonderful safe patio to sit on and relax and enjoy the weather or surroundings.
Kohnens Country Bakery makes some pretty awesome items. I know, because of a co-worker bring in stuff all the time from this place and it is yummy!

The Gold Coast Station train store in Tehachapi has moved up the street. They have outgrown the store that was at the Village Marketplace next door to the Tehachapi Depot. They will leave the caboose in its present location. Black Widow 2009 Caboose sits out in the front area of the rebuilt Tehachapi Depot. Black Widow is in reference to the colors used by Southern Pacific engines being black, silver and orange called the "Black Widow" theme while the number 2009 is for the centennial year of the city of Tehachapi. The refurbished Southern Pacific Railroad Caboose was completed by the owners Hans-G and Rachel Kahl who own the Gold Coast Station train store. Please check in town to make sure the new address for the store is correct. Open FRIDAY, SATURDAY 10AM TO 5PM & SUNDAY 11:30AM TO 4PM
What to buy: The store has G scale model train engines and cars. Kalamazoo, Aristo, Delton, Ro, USA, LGB, Lehmann, Primus pieces are available.
