Giant Redwoods, California
There are Gaint Redwood trees throughout most of Northern California but one of our favorite spots was the Big Basin State Park between San Francisco and Santa Cruz.
We spent a few nights in this cabin next to one of the Redwood trees. Very cozy and comfortable with 2 bedrooms. We stayed up late playing cards in the quiet of the woods.
This tree fell in 1991 and could be heard crashing to the ground one mile away. It was 2 feet taller than Niagara Falls and weighed over 1,000,000 lbs.
