This is the original Disneyland and I'm only putting it under 'tourist trap' because there will be a lot of tourists if you visit. But don't let that stop you! It's still a great place that is sure to put a smile on your face.
Disneyland is a major tourist trap: very crowded and I find it quite annoying... Unless it's the #1 thing on your list, I would forgo it... Venice Beach is the #2 tourist trap in California, but it's not that bad... Avoid faulty purchases and avoid any offers you might get, and definitely I wouldn't suggest swimming in the ocean near there: it's not very clean...
Disneyland. I may be spoiled having grown up so close to it but it's definately only a one day trip. I wouldn't recommend staying in Anaheim eighther. You can stay closer to the beach and still be less than 30 minutes to Disneyland. That way you can enjoy the beach at night instead of the ugly city of Anaheim.
Hollywood can also be a tourist trap. Find some places to go (like the John Paul Getty Museum) or somewhere. Have a game plan. You won't be impressed by just driving around in Hollywood or anywhere in LA for that matter.
It's a Small World @ Disneyland. That annoying and repetitive tune will go through your head all day long.
