Baja Cantina: Baja Cantina
Yummy, yummy Mexican food! I would have to say that they have the best Mexican food in the area! The ambience is fun! There's a large bar area, as well as a huge patio area. A great place for football and basketball games and most definitely the best place to be for Cinco de Mayo! The lines get long so get here early on Cinco de Mayo! Great restaurant and bar all rolled into one! :)
Favorite Dish: Chicken ensenada is my ABSOLUTE favorite! Their fajitas are terrific and their lobster enchilada in a white cream sauce is to die for!!!!
Fig Tree's Cafe: Fig Tree's Cafe
A little pricey, but for a reason. All of the food there was very... uhh, natural. The sodas were all natural, no preservatives (ie., no coke or pepsi), about the only thing that would be commercial they sold was the bottled beer. Great natural food, freshly prepared. Very well done. The price was worth the experience.
Favorite Dish: The Fajita platter
World Cafe: World Cafe
They have a great courtyard area. Everything opens out to this courtyard and it is just really pretty! They have lots of big, over-hanging trees in the courtyard. A nice, romantic place for dinner or a pleasant place for a Sunday brunch! They have a huge loungy area on the right that is a great place to hang out during happy hour or for that apertif as you're waiting for a table.
Favorite Dish: They have a lot of great things on the menu! I just can't name one! Typical California fusion fare.
La Vecchia: La Vecchia
Small, cozy atmosphere. Just great food and its location is great because after dinner, you can cruise over to one of the many bars on this street or go get some coffee.
Favorite Dish: The bowtie pesto dish. If you like pesto sauce, theirs is pretty much as close as you're going to get to the real Italian stuff! This dish tasted SOOOO similar to the one I had in Italy that I could have sworn I was in Italy (except for the fact that everyone was speaking English!!).
C&O Trattoria: C&O Trattoria
They serve HUGE family portions! One entree is enough to feed 2+ people!! Each entree is about US$10! What a great deal on such great food! Also, every night at about 9pm, everyone in the restaurant sings 'That's Amore!' while toasting each other! It's a lot of fun and there's a sense of camaraderie among all the patrons and servers in the restaurant!
Favorite Dish: Pasta, pasta, pasta!!
