Back in 1973-75, and extensive archaeological excavations began uncovering the foundation to the "lost mission church" and all the other structures that surrounded her. They also uncovered a wealth of artifacts from the many various cultures dating back to 3,500 years ago. In the building they display and explain what was found. Outside in the huge yard is where the very foundation of the first mission of Ventura began. What is interesting is it is right night door to the other mission.

This is a small but interesting museum, right on Ventura's Main Street. See all sorts of historical artifacts from Ventura's past, some well preserved, some not so, & learn a bit about Ventura's history. While there, think about the people who were here before us too.
Admission's free, but a small donation is appreciated.
