West Covina Restaurants

  • Meat, meat, meat!

This has to be one of the coolest buffets I've ever eaten in. Its a Brazillian buffet restaurant and its not your typical buffet though. Like most buffets, you grab a plate and you head to the food, but its only food items like rice, mash potatoes, fries, etc. The real "meat" of the buffet is delivered by waiiters. The waiters come up with skewers...

  • American Food/Diet Conscientious

This is a chain restaurant that has a pretty extensive menu. They are one of the few restaurants that try to cater to people who are on a particular diet such as a"no carb" diet. The food is okay, not great. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is a sports bar like place since there are TV's everywhere.

  • Must Do - SoCal Burger!

My boyfriend, whom I recently met at the time had been in Southern California for just about a year. He mentions that he likes his burgers and I said, "Oh, I'm not a big burger fan but I like In & Out once in awhile". He looked puzzled and I couldn't believe he had never had an In & Out Burger! They are all over in the Los Angeles Area and who...

  • Best food in West Covina for the Money

This place gives very good food for a great price. Thai food is my favorite kind of food when I eat out. This place has nice servers and cashiers. When we got a big order to go, they were a bit slow, but the food was great when we got it. The place was packed when we arrived. I had the Panang Chicken Cury. The Pad Thai is also very good with...

  • Upscale Chinese

By Chinese restaurant standards, this is an upscale restaurant, not cheap, very well lit and tableclothes. I haven't had a bad meal yet - lots to choose from. My favorites are the House Special Fried Rice that contains shrimp and tiny slices of Chinese sausage and any duck dish. When ordering the duck depending on your eating preference, I always...

  • Best Sushi in Town!

It's not cheap - but excellent! Nice cozy atmosphere. Because I frequent the restaurant quite often, come to know the owner, Sachiko, the sushi chefs and waitresses-I haven't seen a new employee yet. The restaurant has some special rolls they make not on the menu - you should ask about them. Secret - order the butterfish, it's marinated and cooked...

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There's really not too many locations to hang out after 10pm. One of the few places is the West Covina Starbucks located right next to the Barnes and Nobles. It stays open til midnight on weekdays and sometimes even later on the weekends.

Its a good place to relax, chat, chill, and people watch as its also located next to a movie theater so there's always a bunch of caffeine-starved people.

Staff is pretty friendly like most Starbucks, but I'm not sure if its because I frequent this place a lot, they just seem more friendlier than most.

Dress Code: A suit and tie... hehe... just playing. But it would help if all the pretty ladies dressed up in some nice sexy clothing!

West Covina Shopping

  • Great Little Nursery

Plants, flowers, trees. They don't have a huge selection like the San Gabriel Nursery or even an Armstrong Nursery but they have enough. You can buy herbs, vegetables, roses, shrubs. They gal whos owns it/runs it is very knowledgeable about plants and can help you solve problems you might have in your garden. It's sort not is a high traffic area so...

  • Amazing Home Store!

What a concept! The store is fantastic. Anything for kitchen except for large appliances - dishes, small electronics, pots and pans, cutlery, glasses, utencils, etc. Anything for the bathroom except the vanity or faucet hardware - mirrors, towels, towel racks, rugs, etc. Anything for the bedroom except the bedroom furniture - bedding, comforters,...

  • Japanese Markets is hard to come by

Here in West Covina, there are not too many Asian Markets, specifcally, Japanese groceries. But we do have a Japanese market called Marukai. They pretty much have everything you can imagine when it comes to Japanese food, even sushi grade sashimi (pretty expensive) available. For someone like me, who was raised eating Japanese food even though I'm...

  • Party with friends

since I have many friends in the los angeles area, we would sometimes have house parties at one of my friends house in west covina town, which is a good 35 to 40 minutes drive from downtown LA area in local roads instead of the freeways as it is less traffic in the local roads. So whenever I'm in los angeles, I will visit some of my friends living...

  • A Wonderful Mexican Market

La Pradera is a small franchise of a Mexican grocery market. What is wonderfully unique about them is if you want to prepare authentic Mexican food at home for a reasonable cost - this is where you need to go. The meat market portion of the market has an extensive selection. What I like to buy is the marinated, boneless chicken breast seasoned in a...
