Cities to stay in during your visit

Cities to stay in during your visit, West Covina

GracesTrips Says:  If you are visiting the Los Angeles Area, there are quite a few great places to stay - so many that it is probably hard to choose. If you do not include a visit to an amusement park such as Disneyland or Unniversal Studios, I would suggest staying in Pasadena (1st. choice),...

Churrascaria's Greefields: Meat, meat, meat!

Churrascaria's Greefields: Meat, meat, meat!, West Covina

joits Says:  This has to be one of the coolest buffets I've ever eaten in. Its a Brazillian buffet restaurant and its not your typical buffet though. Like most buffets, you grab a plate and you head to the food, but its only food items like rice, mash potatoes, fries, etc. The real...

Friday's: American Food/Diet Conscientious

Friday's: American Food/Diet Conscientious, West Covina

GracesTrips Says:  This is a chain restaurant that has a pretty extensive menu. They are one of the few restaurants that try to cater to people who are on a particular diet such as a"no carb" diet. The food is okay, not great. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is a sports bar like...

In & Out: Must Do - SoCal Burger!

In & Out: Must Do - SoCal Burger!, West Covina

GracesTrips Says:  My boyfriend, whom I recently met at the time had been in Southern California for just about a year. He mentions that he likes his burgers and I said, "Oh, I'm not a big burger fan but I like In & Out once in awhile". He looked puzzled and I couldn't believe he had never had...

Thai Village: Best food in West Covina for the Money

Thai Village: Best food in West Covina for the Money, West Covina

supune Says:  This place gives very good food for a great price. Thai food is my favorite kind of food when I eat out. This place has nice servers and cashiers. When we got a big order to go, they were a bit slow, but the food was great when we got it. The place was packed when we...

House of Louie: Upscale Chinese

House of Louie: Upscale Chinese, West Covina

GracesTrips Says:  By Chinese restaurant standards, this is an upscale restaurant, not cheap, very well lit and tableclothes. I haven't had a bad meal yet - lots to choose from. My favorites are the House Special Fried Rice that contains shrimp and tiny slices of Chinese sausage and any duck...

Yashima: Best Sushi in Town!

Yashima: Best Sushi in Town!, West Covina

GracesTrips Says:  It's not cheap - but excellent! Nice cozy atmosphere. Because I frequent the restaurant quite often, come to know the owner, Sachiko, the sushi chefs and waitresses-I haven't seen a new employee yet. The restaurant has some special rolls they make not on the menu - you...

Starbucks...

There's really not too many locations to hang out after 10pm. One of the few places is the West Covina Starbucks located right next to the Barnes and Nobles. It stays open til midnight on weekdays and sometimes even later on the weekends.

Its a good place to relax, chat, chill, and people watch as its also located next to a movie theater so there's always a bunch of caffeine-starved people.

Staff is pretty friendly like most Starbucks, but I'm not sure if its because I frequent this place a lot, they just seem more friendlier than most.

Dress Code: A suit and tie... hehe... just playing. But it would help if all the pretty ladies dressed up in some nice sexy clothing!

Marukai: Japanese Markets is hard to come by, West Covina

GracesTrips Says:  Here in West Covina, there are not too many Asian Markets, specifcally, Japanese groceries. But we do have a Japanese market called Marukai. They pretty much have everything you can imagine when it comes to Japanese food, even sushi grade sashimi (pretty expensive)...

A Wonderful Mexican Market

La Pradera is a small franchise of a Mexican grocery market. What is wonderfully unique about them is if you want to prepare authentic Mexican food at home for a reasonable cost - this is where you need to go. The meat market portion of the market has an extensive selection. What I like to buy is the marinated, boneless chicken breast seasoned in a citrus marinade with various chilis at $1.79 lb. is what I paid last time. The marinated carne asada (thinly sliced flank steak for barbecuing) is also very good at $3.97 lb. The store provides premade guacamole and fresh salsas - a good variety and very reasonable. Produce section had hard to find chilis, tomatillos and other vegetables that you would not normally find in a regular market.
