West Hollywood has its own bus called Cityline/Dayline. It is 25 cents per ride or free with a MTA bus pass ($5). This bus may be convenient if you are staying in WeHo. A popular destination of the CityLine routes is Beverly Center/ Connection (malls). I used this line a few times to go shopping. It is very much a neighborhood, hitting several small streets and most likely with a few locals aboard who tend to be chatty elderly Russian folks. The bus is quite slow but steady and worth catching if you see it. See website for route details.

Arrive to WeHo via Metro. I have often used the MTA buses to get here. The routes are popular, often crowded throughout the day but reliable.
Most Common routes:
4 and 704- runs everyday along Santa Monica Blvd. ; 10-20 min wait for bus usually; both routes stem from downtown L.A. and 704 goes along the way to Santa Monica (beach/3rd St Promenade, etc)
Other routes:
10- arrives in the center of town, goes along popular, fashionable adjacent Melrose area, runs Mon-Sat; about 10-20 min wait for bus
217- stops at Fairfax/Santa Monica; Hollywood/Vine, other stops for entertainment; runs Mon-Sun
220- runs from WeHo to the lovely community of Culver City; about 40 min wait, Mon-Sat, no Sun
305- limited because it runs every hour from the Green/Blue rail lines from south L.A. but runs crosstown eventually to WeHo and nearby Westwood/UCLA area for entertainment; Mon-Sun
