    Beware of Wilshire & Westwood

by marinarena Written Apr 3, 2008

Really, anywhere along Wilshire Blvd in West L.A. is heavily congested during the rush hours but beware of Wilshire/Westwood intersection. It is often the scene of protest by activist groups for various social and political causes. Don't be caught off guard!

Oh, if there were only a train...

or some kind of faster way of travelling on the Westside! The main complaint made over and over again about this area is the TRAFFIC! Unfortunately, this problem will continue to grow. There is much talk to extend the Red Line subway into the Westside- but for now, it is only talk! Judging the way of politics and non-action of LA government, this will remain to be -talk! There is slightly more hope for broading the 405 fwy to help with traffic but adding an extra lane of two won't be nearly enough. So, pack a lot of patience when travelling here. Of course, this can be said travelling in other parts of the LA-San Diego metro area-but especially on the Westside!!!

Best advice on travel here- go out really early or late on the weekends, IF YOU CAN!
