The Buggy Whip: Classic and Consistent with Great Food!

by ecodave Written Jan 29, 2010

The Buggy Whip is not a "trendy" place, having remained essentially
unchanged for decades. In my opinion, it doesn't need to. My recent
visit was just as good as my last visit years ago. The value here is
the assurance that you will have a pleasant experience with great
    service and excellent food.

I enjoy the aging suit of armor by the front door. The atmosphere is
relaxed and, in the main dining room, conversation was easy. The
hostess was gracious and friendly. The wait staff was attentive and
very helpful, checking with the chef to be sure I got the right
answer. The speed of service was as expected.

The food was good and plentiful. I felt well taken care of, as though
we were family. I consider this a great experience because it prefectly
met my need for a pleasant family experience.

Check with the restaurant before trying to use a discount or promotion
with the early bird specials (lesser portions, under $20). Entrees range
from $20 to $30, with the best steaks costing more.

Favorite Dish: I enjoyed the rack of lamb, traditionally seasoned and grilled to
perfection. Another guest dug into the ribs. More than enough to
take some home. Note that the early bird specials are the same dishes
in lesser quantity; we ordered the regular meal to have some of this
yummy food for later. Buggy Whip is known for its steaks and we did
    not try any.

the buggy whip unfortunately is now closed but there are many good restaurants in westchester. Petrellis steak house nearby is a good replacement for buggy whip.
