VINEYARD AT WESTLAKE VILLAGE INN

VINEYARD AT WESTLAKE VILLAGE INN, Westlake Village

travelgourmet Says:  It is happening right here in Westlake Village proper. A vineyard is being born on the property of the Westlake Village Inn. I don't know the landscape artist, but it looks like it will be a true vineyard ala Napa, well, a mini-Napa. Olive trees outline the property with...

Westlake Village Lake

Westlake Village Lake, Westlake Village

travelgourmet Says:  Westlake Village has a lake. It is a private lake for residents and guests of the residents only. Sorry, but that's the way it is. Homes surround the lake and many are on an Island. All of them have their own dock off their yards. But, you can enjoy the view. Walking on the...

Stonehaus: There is a new Wine Bar in Town, Westlake Village

travelgourmet Says:  First things first. A vineyard was designed for the northeast corner of Agoura Road and Lakeview Canyon Road in Westlake Village on the beautiful grounds of the Westlake Village Inn Resort. Included in the property is the "hot spot" at night for Westlake Village, Bogie's...

FIN'S SEAFOOD GRILL: SEAFOOD HEAVEN

FIN'S SEAFOOD GRILL: SEAFOOD HEAVEN, Westlake Village

travelgourmet Says:  Located in the Westlake Plaza Shopping center, west side, sits this unassuming frontage of a restaurant. The only giveaway that something good may be inside is the outside tables that after 6pm are crowded. You have been looking at FIN'S Seafood Grill. Inside is a cozy bar...

ZIN BISTRO AMERICANA: LAKE FRONT DINING

ZIN BISTRO AMERICANA: LAKE FRONT DINING, Westlake Village

travelgourmet Says:  Zin Bistro Americana has one advantage over the many choices for restaurants in Westlake Village. It sits next to the lake in Westlake Village. The food dishes are American style with decent size portions. Entering the restaurant and one gets good vibes from the sleek lines...

CAFE FIRENZE: NEARBY IS FABULOUS FABIO VIVIANI, Westlake Village

BOCCACCIO'S: LAKESIDE FINE DINING

BOCCACCIO'S: LAKESIDE FINE DINING, Westlake Village

travelgourmet Says:  Boccaccio's is located by the lake in Westlake Village. Outside umbrella tables are choice seating in warm weather. Inside is an inviting seating area with a view of the lake out the windows. Many of their dishes could be called gourmet, but that might keep some from being...

BLESS THIS HOME

BLESS THIS HOME, Westlake Village

travelgourmet Says:  Most of the locals believe they have a piece of heaven in their home. A city out in the country. This is the land of plenty for a few but still the young and restless try to find an abode in the area as well. There are some rentals and the prices are not on the kind side....

A Tree is a Tree, but a Bonsai is a Work of Art, Westlake Village

WATER DROPPING ON FIRE IN THE HILLS
2 more images

One main concern in Westlake Village is a brush fire. The dry windy air and the hot days of summer can spell more than danger, but pure trouble. The hills and brush that are all around Westlake Village become a fire hazard for the entire community.

So, please don't throw cigerette ashes or butts out of a vehicle. Don't play with fireworks or matches in our hills. We are on constant watch for smoke in the hills. That means trouble. That means where there is smoke, there is fire. Thank you for being careful and caring.

In 2012, we have been lucky so far, but a large brush fire has been on the other side of the mountain in the Pacific Palisades/Malibu area above the Will Rogers State Park. Please, again I ask you, to be careful with any flame, cigarettes, cigars, pipe, firepit, campfire any where in the Southern California area. Our scrub brush mountains go up in flames from the heat alone on many a day of late summer.
