Don't expect any bargains, but these are collectible prints, not just posters.
California Native American's produced the finest basketry in the world--there is no dispute about this among basket lovers. At the museum gift shop, there are numerous baskets on an upper shelf that range in price from about $500-$5,000-. Some of these are recently made by the growing number of California Indians who have relearned the complex skill of basket weaving. A few appear to be early twentieth century antique baskets. Most such antiques are in museums around California, with an excellent collections being at this museum and at the Ahwahnee Hotel. There are also several great textbooks in the store that explain all about California Indian basketry, and exactly why these native American's focused on such elaborate work.
The photos here are from the nearby museum...

Located in the middle of Yosemite Village, the Village Store has plenty of drinks and groceries to satisfy not only the campers but the day tourists as well. It is more of a general store than a food store. Every kind of tourist related gift item from the rediculous to the sublime is available for purchase. What to buy:
I am a sucker for shot glasses. So, when browsing around the store, I found all kinds of shot glasses, you know the kind to put alcohol in, not a tired, outdated drinking glass. No, this was the gen-u-wine 1 1/2 oz. , put your favorite booze in, shot glass. Found a set of four, I don't like to down shots alone, that met my criteria for a Yosemite shot glass. Now to find the bottle of tequila.
What to pay:
Most items are a little pricier that outside of Yosemite National Park, but hey, it's a long drive to the closest town.
Both Yosemite and Curry Village have grocery stores that sell a wide variety of goodies. They are very popular as you can imagine and while it is best to bring as much of your supplies with you as you can, they are not price gorging as much as they could considering their remote location.
What to buy:
We had brought our main food stuffs with us but this was a place to buy treats like ice cream which is obviously too perishable to cart around in your cooler from San Francisco! They also have a good selection of beer. This is California, after all, one of the earliest proponents of the craft beer revolution so you don't have to drink Bud. We would buy a six and sit out on the patio outside.
What to pay:
Beer was not marked up as much as it could have been and it was still a lot cheaper than buying beer at a restaurant, even the pizza place was about double what you would pay in the store. Grab a pie, a six and enjoy.
Typical souvenir shop with handicrafts, and typical gifts. there's also ice-creams and sandwiches and other sort of food.. so there's no other shop that a souvenir office for tourist!!
