The Barrel Cellar: Wine Accessories and Gifts

by Agraichen Written Jul 22, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Located on the second floor of the Vintage 1870 shopping "center" is a wonderful location to find just that perfect gift for the wine affectionardo on your list. Dru Montanelli, the Proprietress is quite pleasant and has just the suggestion for those who might be undecided.

What to buy: Fancy bottle openers; reusable and 1-use wine bottle tags (easier to find in the cellar); cutting boards; art; general trinkets; something for everyone.

What to pay: $1.00 - the sky is the limit

    Groezinger's: Lil' Ol Wine Shop

    Fruit of the vine!

A great little wine shop specializing in but not limited to Napa/Sonoma/Mendocino wines.

Rick and Justin are a total kick and the shop could also double for a Grateful Dead/60s-70s SF Rock and Roll Museum with all of the posters, pictures and items from the good ol' days.
The suprising part is Rick and Justin probably weren't even born when most of those groups were around!

Good wine tips. The Franciscan "Magnificat" was muy bueno!

Good prices and not as stuffy at the wine store in the Vintage 1870 shopping center.

    What to buy: Uhhhhh...Wine!

What to pay: Bottles range from a $5 bottle of Charddy up to the usual expensive Opus, et al.

    Discount Outlets

by Agraichen Updated Jul 22, 2006

Not one, but over 4 dozen "factory outlets" greet you at the entrance to the Napa Valley.

What to buy: Most anything from clothes, to luggage.

What to pay: Don't let the "outlet" name fool you. You have to know the merchandice, but normally the prices are lower than retail. Watch the "sale" items and you can get some real bargans. (I found Bolle sunglasses for half price).

    Venik International: OH, WOW, furniture....

by Agraichen Written Jul 25, 2006

The current shop will be no longer almost as this writing as the "city" has deemed the land must be developed. Yet the craft of Venika will live on as this is merely a showcase of their artistry.

Furniture as and art form to a new dimention. Don't ask prices if you can't afford to buy, but many of the pieces are quite reasonably priced.

What to buy: Anything made of wood. If they don't have it, they will craft it for you.

    What to pay: don't ask
