I am sorry to state that Zeb's Restaurant closed later in 2006. I will surely miss it even more! I was quite surprised that VT has not a single restaurant tip covering ZEB'S, a roadhouse in Colorado Springs, so I am about to rectify that! I visited the city on business trips for eight years about five-six times per year. Ask the local natives and employees at the large Company Plant I visited where the best steakhouse is and they invariably said ZEB'S! We would gather there right after work as their cocktail lounge and balcony with an unobstructed million dollar view of 14,110 foot Pike's Peak and the sunsets is stunning! (And of course Zebulon Pike surveyed the peak, hence the name). A well-patronized open after work bar with cocktails, wine & beer served. This is a very popular family-friendly steakhouse with casual dining atmosphere that also offers seafood and stream fish, chicken, spaghetti & burgers, but their signature dish and house specialty is the barbeque ribs. They also have a Colorado cut huge steak that requires a jumbo oval platter but still overflows it. A gentlemanly challenge to finish it; you won't need another meal for quite a while. Smaller ladies or other cut steaks are also available. Variety of potatoes, baked or fries to be chosen. Never-ending warm bread trays offered. Finger food chilled relish dishes before the entree serving. There are several dining rooms & a working fireplace for more intimate ambience besides the front bar in this sprawling Santa Fe mission-like building set on a hill overlooking massive Pike's Peak. The interior is rustic wild west decor with cowboy artifacts & wall art that perfectly suits the building. Service is well-staffed, friendly, competent & efficient. A party of 8-10 or more is easily accomodated. Park alongside the left side of the building up the steep hill or behind & above in their large free on-site parking lot. Enter the restaurant from the center of the hill, so don't park on the street or you will have a steep walk up to the entry. Reservations are suggested. Supper hours of operation noted below. Not for breakfast or lunch.
The smoked barbeque pork ribs are available in either full or half-slabs. The meaty half-slab can be incredibly filling with sides including salad & breads. The bread trays are continually refilled. The barbeque sauce is excellent & takeout is available for call-aheads. You will smell the smoky barbeque before you enter the building. For those with less to spend, the burgers or spaghetti dishes are a good bargain & servings are huge. "Grande Dame of the Rockies" by Tugboatguy The Broadmoor Five Star-rated resort complex dates back to 1918, with a well-deserved reputation for superlative excellence, with pricing to match. It has been called "The Grande Dame of the Rockies". This is a destination resort to spend your 50th wedding anniversary with your loving spouse. There are ten separate restaurants and lounges among the Italianate renaissance architecture of the buildings. The main building is ten stories or more tall with a tower. To be fair, I only ate in one of the restaurants to choose from, with a group of about 15 friends. There is no reason to believe our excellent dining experience untypical of the other restaurants to choose from here. Our choice was an upstairs restaurant in the main building for an evening supper. Note that under such circumstance, separate checks are a no no, so we all paid for our meal with appropriate tip to one appointed table member, who felt like the Royal Exchequer briefly before settling the bill. Ambience is old but impeccably kept castle, with furnishings and decor to match. You may be overwhelmed with the grandeur of the place. Experience if even a bit of it, by a great meal as we did. About six of our group were so pleased they went back to dine a few nights later.
I chose the wild trout fish dinner. It was preceded by chilled hors d'oeuvres, choice of salads, and warm fresh baked breads. The entree preparation, presentation and taste was perfect, with baby carrots in a sauce. Extensive variety of knockout desserts offered, but I passed on the added calories. Sometimes, discretion is the better part of a slim waistline. Here is an instance where it behooves you to eat where your boss eats. I was on a business trip to Colorado Springs, one of many trips here, when my boss who was along on this trip said he always ate at Luigi's. So, Luigi's it was. There shall be no disappointment at this friendly Italian restaurant. This place makes you feel instantly at home, with great aroma of Parmesan cheese and other Italian treats of the palate. It seems that everyone in The Springs but me had or has eaten there. Can be crowded, but very accommodating. Excellent service and just great food. Pastas, pizzas, salads and more. Child friendly too.
I ordered lasagna, my test of a good Italian restaurant. Fine salad and prompt service, considering the lasagna needs oven baking. An entirely satisfying meal, almost too filling. You will enjoy and savor your dining experience here. Leave a Comment Theme: ItalianPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 947 So. Sonterra was Voted "Best New Restaurant in Colorado Springs." by the people of Colorado Springs and I would agree that it is indeed a nice place and the food very taste. Chief Randy Price named his place, “Sun and Earth”, Sonterra in the language of the base of southwestern food. It is nicely and brightly decorated with great service. Randy Stated "The restaurant was created with the goal of capturing the spirit of the American Southwest in both atmosphere and culinary flair. Hours: 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday - Saturday
The tableside made Guacamole salad was as good as it get. The "Hand Made" tortilla Soup with with mesquite grilled chicken, fresh avocado, cilantro, tortilla strips and cotija cheese was os so tasty. Tacos Al Carbon I had the Mesquite grilled skirt steak kind served with roasted peppers, fire roasted tomato and avocado salsa, repollo, mixed cheeses and guacamole in hand made and flour tortillas. DiD you know -- Erakio, who was a native of the Mexican pueblito of Anahuac, near Mexico City created tacos on a barbeque spit using this own method to cook the meats marinaded in a spicy juicy sauce than cooked on the vertical spit than he but a spin to it . This creations became so well know that people began it to call, respectfully, Don Erakio. Leave a Comment

Chipotle Mexican Grill serves fresh, huge, Mexican tortilla, bean, rice, meat things that are very good. They may take more than one sitting to eat. They offer beer (Corona, Dos XX, etc) as well as organic teas (I think) and soft drinks. Fresh, not very fattening or bad for you, and they don't take long to make!
They are all good. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: 5079 N. Academy Blvd 895 N. Academy Blvd S. TejonOther Contact: 532-0900 (5079 Academy) 572-1727

The Warehouse Brewery... I was surprised when I walked in the doors to this place... Wow... it's not in a good section of downtown (south of downtown) but oh my... the food was excellent, they have a huge wine list and offer eight house-made beers. Dress well, this is a nice place!
I had to order the buffalo, just had to, and it was well worth it. It came with onion rings, which weren't all that good, and felt very out of place. An old coach-house, I think once owned by Helen Hunt, nice interior.
Buffalo here is excellent, in a brambleberry sauce that really tastes nothing like brambleberries..., but excellent nonetheless. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: This is in/on the way to Manitou Springs, on the right side of the road.
