Just the humming birds made this place worth it to me. so many Humming birds there little wings had a humming sound it suddenly downed on me yes that is why they are humming birds. also I am a sucker for chipmunks they are so cute.

But t has a bit of a reputation as being a little tourist trap-py and commercialized. (Lots of nice free falls and nature walks in this part of the USA).

If you are the sort that like to see Indian dances, three gift shops and take a cave elevator to a lookout this is your place. For those who want to see some "natural beauty" but really are not able to hike than this is also a good spot with the elevator - to observation deck near top of falls.

Called "the grandest mile of scenery in Colorado", these falls offer tremendous views by day and by night. It's 224 steps to the top (comparable to climbing up some cathedral spires or lighthouse steps). From there, one can continue on to the grave of novelist Helen Hunt, author of Ramona. Just beyond that is Inspiration Point, with its magnificent view of Colorado Springs and the plains beyond. By night, computer-controlled multi-color lights illuminate the falls, showing each in different, ever-changing colors.

One word of caution: Please do NOT feed the wild animals. You can buy fish food to feed the fish in the river, but stay away from the raccoons, bears, and other wildlife.

Seven Falls is a beautiful waterfall near the Broadmoor Hotel and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It costs a little bit to get in (less then $10). You can walk up to the base of the falls, or take the staircase or elevator up for a better view of the falls. There's also a gift shop and nice restroom facilities.

I know this isn't the main attraction in Colorado Springs but I was able to walk here from The Broadmoor Hotel and was pleasantly surprised. It was a nice place to hike and was really pretty. The climb up the 224 stairs to see the view of the falls from above was definitely worth 'the burn'. I was kind of surprised at the $6 (It is now $7) I had to pay to get in to the park - it would be pretty expensive to just go to take a look, considering there is incredible scenery all around for free - so take some time to enjoy it and hike.

My first impression was.....WOW. Beautiful falls and nice surroundings. But my enthusiasm declined as soon as I found out that these falls were not natural but man-made!!! Well, but still a nice and beautiful place to visit. On the picture you can't actually see the falls because we had already passed them. But it's worth hiking up the mountain. You can see Colorado Springs in the back....nice view but be aware of bears (I'm serious!!)

Seven Falls is best seen at night (during the summer). The falls are lit up in various colors and are quite impressive.There is a mountain elevator you can ride in up to the top. In the daytime, you can hike to Midnight Falls along a nature trail. Native Indian dancers perform for visitors, too. Summer hours are from 8:30 a.m. til 10:30 p.m. Drive west on Cheyenne Blvd. in Colorado Springs to Seven Falls.

This is a site for watching the water cascade down, not up. Charge is $9.00 per person for the one mile drive. Open 9-5 daily. The whole area is 1400 acres, but the majority is not accessible.
