The Denver Botanic gardens is my favorite place in all of Denver. It is a collection of native and non-native plants in Colorado. The best time of year to visit is May through October when the Koi are active and flowers are blooming. A collection of gardens from prarie, desert, japanese, european and mountain montaine can be found here. Bring a book for relaxing, or a camera for memories - but god forbid don't forget the sunglasses. Hours are 9am to 5pm daily with extended summer hours (May-Sep.) Summer rates are $6.50 for adults, $4.50 for seniors over 65, $4.00 for students and youth. Students need to have an ID.
I just love the red, violet, yellow and orange hues of the leaves during autumn in the Denver Botanical Gardens. Lily ponds, Japanese gardens and a Conservatory of tropical plants can be seen.
