The Denver zoo is located on 80 acres (32ha) in the northeastern area of Denver. The have 4000 animals representing 750 species.

This is a really nice zoo. When we went, it was what was called a "Free Day" where admission was free and you could walk right on through the gates! Thre are all types of animals here, and some of them are really close. The Bear area is actually on the National Register of Historic Places, built in 1918. The only thing I did not like about the Denver Zoo was the fact that the paths were VERY confusing. Once you take a path, it circles into another, then another, then another. We got turned around so many times, it wasn't even funny. If you bring small children, keep them close because it is easy to get lost here. This zoo is located right inside the city off 23rd street, about a block from the Gates Planetarium and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science (which I plan to do on my next trip). Be sure to check the website below for a list of the free days...it will save you some money.

My sister live in Denver I've there several times I would say the museum of natural science is a must. The Denver zoo Is very nice.

Downtown Denver has a great nightlife for any age (within drinking age off course)

The Denver Zoo is consistently rated as one of the top 10 in America. "Tropical Discovery," is a 1.5-acre rainforest under glass in which visitors feel the sensation of walking through a jungle teeming with wildlife. Other highlights of the Zoo include "Northern Shores" where you can watch polar bears swim underwater and Primate Panorama, where visitors can get as close as 10 feet to over 29 species of monkeys. The Zoo celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1996. The zoo is home to 4,000 animals representing more than 750 species. 144 zoo species are considered endangered and 3 species are actually extinct in the wild. Boasts more than 1.7 million visitors annually.

Always a fun place for children and adults alike, the zoo is in a nice outdoor setting in one of the city's parks near downtown. While the admission fee is getting somewhat steep, there are some scheduled free days throughout the year.

Denver Zoo

Like any major zoo, the Denver Zoo houses a wealth of animals representing different regions from around the world. What was most memorable to me was the polar bear exhibit. Here, polar bears can be observed from both an above-surface viewing deck and an underwater viewing window. I would even say that the polar bears seem closer and more active than at the exhibit I have visited many times at Sea World Orlando.

The nation’s fourth most popular is home to more than 3500 animals representing 685 species. Highlights include Primate Panorama, a seven-acre facility with 29 different species of primates, ranging from a 6-ounce pygmy marmoset to the 619-lb. lowland gorilla Koundu, the largest gorilla in any zoo in the world. Tropical Discovery is an entire rainforest under glass with over 1,200 animals, tropical streams and waterfalls, temple ruins, and an offshore coral reef. Ulaq (U-lock) and Berit (Bear-it), two adorable polar bear cubs that were born on December 28, 1998, frolic in a special area of Northern Shores, an exhibit that replicates the Arctic Circle with sea lions and penguins. Look out for interactive adventures such as African dancing on the plaza, Native American stories on wolves or Japanese fan dancing near the cranes. April-September: 9am-6pm daily; October-March: 10am-5pm daily.

Anyone visiting the city should stop by the Denver Zoo. When I went, two of the monkeys were fightning each other. Maybe you'll be able to witness something as exciting.
The Zoo is a large attraction. It has multiple exhibits and gives Denver a great quality. There are places for birds, reptiles, mammals, plants, and many more.

A day in Denver would is a perfect opportunity to visit the Denver Zoo. This zoo has been around for nearly a hundred years, yet is constantly being updated. Bear Mountain was crafted in 1918, and was the first zoo enclosure in the US to try and approximate natural settings. And now they're working on a new 10-acre area for the Asian animals, with an unprecedented elephant bridge to allow greater movement for the animals.

The zoo has a lot of attractive animals to visit and learn about, beyond the usual run of lions, tigers, and bears (oh my). There's a good collection of tropical reptiles, with snakes of all sizes and shapes, and the famous Komodo dragon. There are okapis, a family favorite, and all sorts of monkeys and primates. The rates are reasonable, with plenty to keep kids active and interested, while enough to satisfy curious parents as well. All in all, a good day out!

The Zoo is open all days of the year, though hours vary between summer (March1-November1, 9am-5pm) and winter (November2-February 28, 10am-4pm).

The Denver zoo is a good place to visit if you are in need of a kid friendly experience. it is well kept, the animals for the most case have lots of room and clean. There are many types of animals and your children will enjoy how close up they can get to the animals.
An exceptionally made exhibit is the bird exhibit, which you walk through and you can see many different types of tropical birds. There are also two penguin exhibits.
The restaurant is really exceptional for a zoo restaurant and they give large portions, too. Also clean.
Entrance for adults 13 dollars, children 8 dollars, cheaper in winter.
