It has 70 acres of grounds that encompasses an amusement and water park. It is located right near the downtown area, even though you would have to drive here. They have family rides, thrill rides and water attractions. Mary Elitch started the park on the outskirts of Denver old town 100 years ago. It moved into the city center and is owned by Six Flags.
Season passes go for $65 and daily fees range $35-wow seems like a rich reward for a day. That price is for children and disabled, which maybe I would be if I went in there for that price. From US 25 take the Speer Road exit

Mary Elitch first established an amusement park in Denver over 100 years ago. It was moved several years ago to downtown, and bought by Six Flags. Some really good rides, if you like wooden roller coasters, don't miss Mister Twister. It's rickety, fast and fun! Make sure to look for the 1927 Carousel, a Philadelphia Tobaggan Company classic. I worked on the restoration of the horses a few years ago. They had over 250 different shades of paint to mix! The cherubs on the carts are particularly cool.

Bordering street Elitch Circle in the Auraria-Lincoln Park Neighborhood. Auraria is the campus of the University of Colorado at Dener and the Community College of Denver. The Park is lcoated on the South Platte River, west of downtown and must south of Cherry Creek, where it joins the So Platte.

Six Flags Elitch Gardens
Elitch Gardens is one of the nation’s few, if not only, amusement parks situated right in the action of a downtown core. And what a park it is — featuring more than 40 thrilling, chilling rides, and the Island Kingdom Water Park (free with admission). Don’t miss the Elitch favorites - - Mind Eraser, a suspended, looping roller coaster; and the Tower of Doom, a 22-story free fall. As they say, not to see Elitch Gardens is not to see Denver.

Everyone travelling with children will enjoy Six Flags. Sure there are many throughout the United States, but they still are a lot of fun and even adults will enjoy themselves.
The ride called the Mind Eraser was one of my favoutites a few years ago. For those who don't like rollercoasters, you'll appreciate the farris wheel that they have. It's one of the biggest I've ever seen.

In the summer Elitch Gardens is lots of fun. It is owned now by Six Flags so it is not as unique and personable as it used to be. The rides are still great fun, though.
