Millions of dollars worth of Americans coins are freshly minted in this heavily fortified and carefully guarded building in downtown Denver. It is open to the public Monday to Friday 8am to 2.45pm. You can join one of the free tours that are given every 20 minutes.
Outside the Mint on most days are street traders selling coin sets, notes and other monetary memorabilia. From the Mint you get a good view of the State Capitol and its gold-plated dome set in parkland. Also nearby are the Denver Art Museum (noted for its Native American collection) and the Colorado History Museum.

You can tour the US Mint, where they make coins and commemorative coins.
It was established in 1906 as a branch for the United States, where coin presses make coins of various sizes for release to the American public. The raw gold and silver mostly came fro the nearby Cripple Creek mining district.
