Steamworks Brewing Company: A bar for those who like to boogie
If you want to dance and drink with locals, this isn't a bad place to start. If you just want to taste a local beer and grab some fried food, there is a seperate section from the dance and bar area with tables and a great view of the brewing rooms. Durango has a lot of bars to choose from. You can find anything from the small hole in the wall, regulars welcome kind of bars, to the loud and rowdy bars for the chick (or kid) who's looking for a faster pace and a lot of new faces.
Dress Code: Anything. Tube tops and tight jeans or hospitol scrubs and an old hoodie. You can stick to casual pants (jeans or shorts) and a tee shirt to play it safe.

All of them: Nightlife - that's a good one.
I love it when people talk about all the great bars in Durango. They have got to be talking about a different Durango, because Durango, Colorado has the lamest assortment of drinking establishments I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. Bad enough that most, if not all of them have lighting that is more appropriate for a barber shop, but they have no ambiance whatsoever and absolutely no charm. Forget the fact that you can't go anywhere without a stupid TV in your face, which I guess is pretty common everywhere these days - gross. But most of the people who work there as well as the customers seem to be devoted to trying to prove just how incredibly "cool" they are. It is laughable. There are no genuine, real people at any of the bars in Durango. They are all "joe cool" droids. The only place even close to being a real bar is D'Oreos (formerly players), and even that place is lame compared to many bars I have been to in many other places. It's like a town full of Cheers. How utterly revolting. I am going to check out Foxtails in Farmington to see if, at least, it is a real bar.
Dress Code: The more inane the better.
