Do you have a pan and been hoping to strike it rich 19th century style? This is one of several sites where trace amounts of free gold can still be found. It's a hobby more than anything for most people - and if it's your living than expect to live a spartan existence. The panning is generally done on South Boulder Creek. Nobody will likely be there to give you any pointers. And in the backcountry - it's not always wise to approach strangers.
Favorite thing: Only a freak like me would drive up just to take a picture and then drive back to Denver. That's the nature of a freak. The sign posted said "No Parking." So don't take too long to take a picture. No Resteraunts, no bars, no hotels, and no gas station. It's nothing more than a place-name with history.
