by phil_uk_net Hire a bike and cycle through Glenwood canyon. You will get some exercise at the same time as witnessing some gorgeous Colorado scenery. This is a perfect way to work up an appetite for lunch! There is a place that rents bikes right next to the Hot Springs Lodge. Leave a Comment Other Contact:

Glendwood Tram by yellowbell Glenwood Caverns can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Even if you're not into theme park adventure, you can just take the gondola ride and walk the expanse of the park. The 4300 foot and 7-minute tram ride affords panoramic views of Glenwood Canyon and Colorado river. For the adventurous at heart, I recommend the canyon flyer and the swing shot. It will be an adrenaline rush. Outdoorsy people can enjoy the cave tour for a minimal fee. Best enjoyed during summer season as some rides close during the winter season. Leave a Comment

by phil_uk_net Take a soak in the hot springs. Pictured are myself, my brother Paul and cousin Scott. The water feels great - besides, you can't come to Glenwood and NOT soak in the springs! Leave a Comment Other Contact:

If you are driving through Glenwood Springs, especially after a day of skiing, hiking or mountain biking, stop for a couple of hours and soak in the hot springs spa and pool. They have two very large pools, one at 104 degrees for soaking and one incredibly large pool at 90 degrees for swimming and wading. They are open until 10PM and it is wonderful to float in the warm pool and stare at the stars with steam drifting over your head. They also have two water slides.

These caverns were "recommended" by some travel agent on the Glenwood Springs brochure. The best part about the caverns is the tram ride to and from, and of course the view from the top. If its possible to just pay for the tram ride-do it-and have a drink at the hilltop bar. The caverns are not impressive, in fact, having been to a few caves (Shasta, Oregon Caves, Innerspace caverns, etc) these are a real disappointment. Address: Along I-70 east of (and above) Glenwood Springs

Colorado by goingsolo Heading west on I-70, the road narrows and passes through the Glenwood Canyon. Take a look at the sheer vertical walls surrounding the highway (if you're the passenger, that is). The canyon, and the road, are so narrow that there is no reentry onto the highway from the Hanging Lake exit in the center of the canyon. This is a great place to stop though, and admire the beautiful scenery. And be sure to stop at the Hanging Lake exit and take the short but steep trail to the unusual lake. Leave a Comment

by GlenwoodTrent Many virtualtourists have recommended the hot springs in the Glenwood Springs attractions area. Here are some good inside tips: 1) Go after 9:00 PM and get a discounted rate for the last hour they are open. 2) Don't be scared to go in the winter... it is less crowded and more fun, they are "hot" springs. 3) The upstairs lockers rooms, when open, are usually less crowded and more clean 4) The lockers can by yucky, take flip flops. 5) Take quarters into the pool, there are nice "bubblers" which cost a quarter.. take a few, buying bubbles for strangers is a good way to make friends. 6) Pay more (usually 2x) to use the members club for immaculate locker rooms, free towels, full gym, sauna/steam room plus the "coolness" of coming out of the local members club instead of the general pool area. 7) Don't have hanky-panky underwater... you can see a long way with Goggles in the dark underwater! 8) If you are overweight, don't worry, there are all shapes and sized there. 9) Don't wear watches and jewelry, the mineralized water will turn them green, blue, grey or black. 10) Don't talk so loud, everyone can hear you.

Glenwood's Hot Springs Pool by Jewelslover The Glenwood Springs Pool is a must do if you're traveling to or through Glenwood Springs. The pool has quite a long history and many famous people have visited over the years. The Glenwood springs waters have been used since the 1800's. The pool was built originally in 1890. The pools are filled with mineral-packed spring waters from the Yampah Springs. The water is so hot when it comes from the springs (122 degrees) that they actually have to add cold water to the spring water for the pools. There are two adult pools, one pool is kept at 90 degrees and the other (the therapy pool) is kept at a steamy 104 degrees. Both feel so good. The water is very soft feeling and there are jaccuzi type chairs to sit in with water jets (these do cost and you will need to bring your change to put in the machines). The pool is open year round. See website for hours of operation. Whitewater Rafting by Jewelslover We went whitewater rafting at Rock Gardens Rafting, Inc in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. I was a first time rafter so we did the Shoshone Half Day trip. The first part of the trip was the whitewater part, but it wasn't too wild, they were probably just class II rapids. Even being a first timer I could have handled a rougher ride than this. The rest of the trip was pretty much a relaxing float down the river. Leave a Comment Address: 1308 County Road 129, Glenwood Springs, COPhone: 800-958-6737Website: www.rockgardens.com

Glenwood Hot Springs Pool by kimod74 While the hot springs are a must see and do while in Glenwood Springs, I wouldn't go back to them again, maybe in Winter time but that' s it. Over crowded, kids everywhere jumping into the pools and splashing you when you are trying to relax. They really need to confine kids to their own pool so the adults who come to relax can actually relax. It was a nice experience but it felt like I was at the "community pool" on a Sunday.... Also, not trying to complain but the hot springs are located right alongside the interstate so I had the joy of listening to the roar of vehicles all day, oh so relaxing! Leave a Comment
